The Stefan Cel Mare Monument is a statue of Stefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great), the most famous Moldovan prince, located in Chisinau, the capital of Moldova. The monument was erected in the 1970s and stands in the central square of the city, known as the Stephen the Great Monument Square.

Stephen the Great ruled Moldova from 1457 to 1504 and is considered one of the greatest Moldovan rulers. He is known for his military victories against the Ottoman Empire and for his efforts to defend Moldova's independence. The monument to Stefan cel Mare was built to honor his memory and his contributions to Moldovan history.

The statue of Stefan cel Mare is made of bronze and stands on a granite base. It depicts the prince on horseback, holding a sword in his hand. The monument also includes several other figures, including a soldier, a boyar (a member of the noble class), and a bishop. The monument was designed by the moldovan sculptor Alexandru Plamadeala and was finally completed in 1928.

During the the Second World War, the monument was temporarily  relocated to the romanian cities of Vaslui and Craiova, but finally in 1945 the Soviet authorities ordered the restoration of the monument to Chisinau.

The Stefan Cel Mare Monument is an important cultural and historical landmark in Chisinau and is a popular tourist attraction. It is also a symbol of Moldovan national pride and a reminder of the country's rich history and cultural heritage.
